Merrow CC players and members past and present will be participating in the Leeds Marathon and would greatly appreciate your support.

On Sunday 13th May, several current and former Merrow CC players & members will be running the Leeds marathon. This race has been renamed the Rob Burrow Leeds Marathon in honour of the Leeds Rhinos rugby league player who suffers with Motor Neurone Disease.

The Merrow CC members are running in memory of Bob O’Keefe. Bob was a longstanding Merrow CC supporter, coach and umpire who sadly passed away in early 2022 from MND.

The Merrow CC runners include are Bob’s son Toby, Will & Sam Finch, Alfie Jones, Jack Donnelly and Ben Barnes. The team are running to raise money for Motor Neurone Disease Association. MNDA is a national charity that cares for people with MND, as well as funds and promotes research in pursuit for a cure for MND.

They would be delighted if you could sponsor them via the link below.

All at Merrow CC wish them a safe and (hopefully) speedy race.

We miss Bob immensely, and hope that the money raised can support the development of a cure for MND.

As a club we would like to do our bit to support their efforts and will match any donations made by Merrow CC members up to £250. All we ask is that when you make your donation via the link above that you add "Merrow CC" in the message box.
